SAMPLE — Notes from a waiting room
This is a sample piece. It is here so the Writing chapter has something to show until Chrissa’s own work arrives; CONTENT.md says how to replace it.
The chairs are always the same: plastic, a little too low, lined up against a wall painted a colour nobody chose. Everyone holds their pages the same way, as if they might escape. Someone hums. Someone else pretends not to hear.
What I like about waiting rooms is that nobody in them has failed yet. For an hour, we are all still possible.
